Thanks for visiting!
A concerned group of citizens in Alberta decided to form Magdalene House Society, which will be an aftercare facility for people who are trafficked. We were very pleased when we were granted charitable status to make it possible for our Society to seek funds in order to provide the necessary services to assist victims of trafficking. We recognize that some of the people who are trafficked are Canadians and require the same level of support that trafficked persons from other countries require. Our aftercare services are available to any and all persons who have been deemed victims of human trafficking. Magdalene House will ensure proper medical, psychological and legal assistance for the residents. Our staff will consist of a Resident Manager and a Director of Operations and Security. Opportunities to learn English, to discover the benefits of our Canadian culture and to find meaningful work will be offered through an active volunteer program. Our volunteers will be given extensive training to work in this environment. Magdalene House Society believes that people trafficked in Canada can benefit from our services long before the conviction of human trafficking is finalized. In this regard we are able to serve people who are potential victims of human trafficking.
